MOBILISE partners gather for 4th board meeting

On 3 and 4 September, the MOBILISE project held its fourth Executive Board meeting in Arusha, Tanzania. Funded by the EU’s Horizon Europe programme, MOBILISE aims to develop an innovative, environmentally friendly One Health mobile laboratory to respond to emerging and re-emerging infectious disease outbreaks.

During the two-day meeting, partners engaged in in-depth discussions and visited the East African Community (EAC) mobile laboratory training centre. These sessions allowed a thorough review of progress in work packages 1-6. The group reached a common understanding of the current status of the project, integrated feedback and identified action points for the second phase.

A notable highlight was the first presentation of a video showing the complete MOBILE laboratory. This generated considerable excitement and highlighted the advanced capabilities of the laboratory. The meeting also provided an overview of the planned missions to Romania, Greece, Austria and Tanzania in the coming year, with a review of the preparatory work and feedback from the project review meeting.

Overall, the meeting was productive with valuable input from partners including BNI, AIT, EXUS, FLI, AGES, SNCRR-S5, BEIA, MDSC and NPHO. Special thanks were given to the Advisory Board members who participated online or provided additional perspectives that enriched the discussions.
